Insurance agent text message templates you can send today

Insurance runs on trust, and much of it now happens in chats: a client who asked for a quote, a policy about to renew, a family that just had a loss. These twelve messages cover the whole year, from the first hello to the thank you after a renewal. None promises a price, savings or approval, none uses fear, and each one is meant for people who agreed to be texted. Start here, then open the pages below for quotes, renewals, claims, referrals and more. Copy any message, or add all twelve to your keyboard and send them from iMessage, WhatsApp, SMS or any other app in one tap. textcuts works in any app where you type.

Works in WhatsApp, iMessage, Instagram, Messenger and every other app.

Words in {{double braces}} are blanks. In the textcuts keyboard you fill them with one tap, and the names you used recently come back.

First contact and quotes

Hello with an opt out

Essential
Good morning, this is {{agent}}, a licensed insurance agent. You asked for help with your cover, so I'm texting to find a time to talk. Tell me if you'd prefer a call or email.

When to send: After someone asks to be contacted.

Why it works: You are named, the reason is clear and the exit is open.

Quote is ready

EssentialPro
Your quote is ready, {{name}}. I'll email it now and call at {{time}} to walk through it. Prices depend on the details, so we'll check them together.

When to send: When a quote is done.

Why it works: It sets the next step and the right expectation.

Quiet after the quote

Does the quote make sense so far, {{name}}? Ask me about any line and I'll explain it in plain words.

When to send: Two days after sending.

Why it works: It invites questions, not a decision.

Renewals and service

Renewal coming up

Pro
Your renewal is coming on {{date}}, {{name}}. I'd like a quick look at your cover first. Are you free for fifteen minutes this week?

When to send: About a month before renewal.

Why it works: A reason, a time frame and a small ask.

Welcome to the family

Essential
Thank you for becoming a client, {{name}}. Your documents are on their way. Save this number and use it whenever you have a question.

When to send: The day they sign.

Why it works: It tells them where to turn.

Payment due

Friendly reminder, {{name}}: your premium is due soon. If you've paid already, ignore this note. If you'd like help, tell me.

When to send: Before a due date.

Why it works: It assumes the best.

After a loss

Essential
I'm so sorry about what happened, {{name}}. Your safety comes first. When you're ready, I'll help you start the claim.

When to send: When a client reports a loss.

Why it works: It leads with care.

Relationships

Birthday

Essential
Happy birthday, {{name}}! Wishing you a great day. No business today, only a hello.

When to send: On their birthday.

Why it works: Asking nothing builds trust.

A kind request

Essential
If a friend ever needs help with insurance, {{name}}, I'd be glad to talk to them. Only if you feel comfortable passing on my number.

When to send: After a good service moment.

Annual check up

It's time for your yearly look at your cover, {{name}}. It takes about fifteen minutes. Which day works for you?

Closing the file

I haven't heard back, {{name}}, so I'll close your file for now. Text me whenever you'd like to pick it up again.

When to send: After two follow ups.

Why it works: A polite end that leaves the door open.

Thank you after a no

Thank you for considering me, {{name}}. Wishing you the best, and I'm here if you ever have a question.

Frequently asked questions

What can I text a client as an insurance agent?

Short, personal messages to people who agreed to texts: quotes, reminders, claim updates, thanks. Keep prices, health data and policy numbers off text.

Can I text a client who never agreed to be texted?

No. Send these only to people who gave you their number and agreed to hear from you by text. The FCC's guide and 47 CFR 64.1200 explain the consent rules. Start a first message with a line such as "Tell me if you'd rather not get texts," and stop the moment someone says stop. Keep texting for people you already work with, one message at a time, typed by you.

Do these templates work on the free plan?

Yes. Ten of the twelve use a single blank, which fills in on the free plan. The "Quote is ready" and the "Renewal coming up" use two blanks and need Pro to fill both from the keyboard.

Can I send these in WhatsApp, iMessage and SMS?

Yes. textcuts is a keyboard, so the templates work in every app where you type, including iMessage, WhatsApp, SMS and Messenger.
