Text party script: 15 messages for the invite, the chat and the follow up

A text party lives or dies on a few messages: the host's invite, the opener that tells people what to expect, the product posts, the game, and the closing of the order window. This page gives you all of them in plain words, and none of them names a company, so you can use them with whichever you work with. The order window uses a real date, never a made up deadline, and the follow up for guests who did not order is one message, not a campaign. Copy any of them, or add all 15 to your keyboard and send them from Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp or iMessage. Planning an in person event instead? See product night invites.

Works in WhatsApp, iMessage, Instagram, Messenger and every other app.

Words in {{double braces}} are blanks. In the textcuts keyboard you fill them with one tap, and the names you used recently come back.

Before the party

The host invites a friend

EssentialPro
Hi {{name}}, I am hosting a text party on {{day}} and would love you to be in it. It is a group chat where my friend who sells the products shows a few things, we play a game, and you can order or just watch. Want in?

When to send: Ten days to a week before the party.

Why it works: It explains what a text party is in one breath.

Invite with the timing

You are invited to my online party. It runs by chat from {{time}} for about an hour, and you can drop in and out. Say yes and I will add you to the group.

When to send: When a friend asks how long it takes.

Why it works: Drop in and out lowers the commitment.

Event post for your feed

I am hosting an online party on {{day}}. Comment 'in' and I will add you to the group chat. Questions are welcome, orders are optional, and you can leave the group whenever you like.

When to send: As a public post or story.

Why it works: It shows you are not trapping anyone in a group.

In the chat

The opener

Essential
Welcome everyone! Thanks for being here. This is a relaxed chat: look at what is posted, ask anything, and order only if you want to. Orders close on {{date}}. My friend is here to answer your questions.

When to send: The moment the party starts.

Why it works: It sets the tone, the rules and the real end date in four lines.

Ice breaker

To get started, tell us your favorite thing about {{product}}, or if you have not tried it, what you would like to know. I will go first: mine is how it smells in the kitchen on a Sunday.

When to send: Five minutes after the opener.

Why it works: A personal question gets people typing before any selling begins.

Product spotlight

Essential
Spotlight on {{product}}. What it is, how I use it at home and what people ask me most. Ask below and I will answer in the chat. The price and details are on the product page.

When to send: One post per featured product.

Why it works: Facts and a link, with no hype.

A spotlight that is honest

Next up, {{product}}. It is popular, but it is not for everyone. Read the label first if you have allergies or sensitivities, and ask me anything. The full ingredient list is on the label and the product page.

When to send: For any product people might react to.

Why it works: It builds trust and protects guests.

The game

Game time. Guess how many {{product}} fit in this bag, and the closest guess wins a small sample. Answers in the chat before the next product goes up.

When to send: Midway through the party.

Why it works: A game keeps the chat fun, and the prize is small and real.

The order window

Reminder of the real deadline

A heads up: the party order window closes on {{date}} at midnight. After that I place the host order and nothing more can be added. Questions about shipping? Ask here.

When to send: Two days before the window closes.

Why it works: It states the real date and the reason for it.

Closing night

Essential
The party order window closes tonight at nine. Send what you want to me privately or use the party link {{link}}. After tonight, orders go through the regular shop.

When to send: The evening the window closes.

Why it works: One clear instruction, no drama.

After the party

Host thank you in the chat

Essential
Thank you all for coming, I loved it. Special thanks to my friend for answering every question. The order link stays open until {{date}}, then the party ends and I will close the group.

When to send: At the end of the party.

Why it works: It closes the group with a date, so nobody gets stuck in it.

Thank you to a guest who ordered

Hi {{name}}, thank you for your order, it means a lot to me as the host. I will message you when it ships.

When to send: The same day as the order.

Why it works: Short and warm, with one promise you can keep.

Guests who did not order

Essential
Hi {{name}}, so glad you joined the party. I noticed you did not order, which is completely fine. If anything stayed on your mind, ask me or my friend, we are both happy to help.

When to send: Two days after the party.

Why it works: It keeps the door open without asking again.

Link still open

Pro
Hi {{name}}, the party link is still open until {{date}} in case you wanted another look at anything we showed. If it is not for you, that is fine too. Thanks for joining.

When to send: The day before the window closes, once.

Why it works: It is a real deadline, said once.

A guest asks about hosting

{{name}}, you asked how hosting works. In short, you invite friends, my friend runs the chat, and hosts usually get a thank you gift. The details depend on the company, so I will send you the exact terms in writing.

When to send: When a guest asks.

Why it works: It stays honest about what you cannot promise.

Do not say

  • Fake urgency ("last orders", "only a few left", "price goes up tonight") when it is not true.

Instead: Give the real closing date of the order window and say it once.

  • Adding friends to a group chat without asking.

Instead: Ask first, and add only those who say yes.

  • Health, weight or skin results in product posts.

Instead: Say how you use the product and send the label or ingredient list.

  • Hinting at what hosting or selling can earn.

Instead: Say that hosting terms depend on the company and send them in writing.

    Source

  • Posting a guest's order or name in the group.

    Instead: Take orders privately.

  • Pinging guests again and again after the party.

Instead: One thank you and one reminder, then stop.

Frequently asked questions

What is a text party?

A group chat where a seller shows products, answers questions and runs a game for a set time, usually an hour. Guests can order privately or through a link, and the host usually receives a thank you gift set by the company.

Are these tied to one company?

No. They name no company, so they fit any direct selling business. If your company has rules for online parties, check them first.

How do I invite people without spamming them?

Invite friends who know you, say how long it lasts, and let them leave the group. See the invitation messages for in person events.

What do I send to guests who did not order?

One thank you and one mention of the real closing date. If they stay quiet, see follow up when someone does not respond.

Do these templates work on the free plan?

Yes. 13 of the 15 use a single blank, which fills in on the free plan. The other 2 use two blanks and need Pro to fill both from the keyboard. Importing the whole page is never blocked.
