Left on read, day three
Hi {{name}}, my message from earlier this week may have landed on a busy day. Nothing is needed from you. Should I send it again when things are calmer, or let it go?
A contact read your message and said nothing. Maybe they watched your video, maybe a call went to voicemail, maybe they said they would think about it three weeks ago. What you send next decides whether you stay a friend or become the person who nags. These 15 messages are written for each kind of silence: the first nudge, the second and last nudge, the honest close, and the hello months later. They never guilt, never invent urgency and never hint at money. Copy any of them, or add all 15 to your keyboard and send from WhatsApp, iMessage or Instagram in one tap. For the other side of a quiet chat, see replies to I have no time.
Works in WhatsApp, iMessage, Instagram, Messenger and every other app.
Words in {{double braces}} are blanks. In the textcuts keyboard you fill them with one tap, and the names you used recently come back.
Hi {{name}}, my message from earlier this week may have landed on a busy day. Nothing is needed from you. Should I send it again when things are calmer, or let it go?
{{name}}, it looks like you had a chance to watch the video I sent. I would like to hear what you thought. If the honest answer is that it is not for you, I can take that.
Morning {{name}}. This is my second and last nudge about the sample box. Reply 1 if you want it, 2 if you would rather not, 3 if you need more time. That is all I need.
{{name}}, maybe a long message was the wrong way in. Would a five minute call be easier? Send me a time that suits you, or just say no thanks and we are good.
Hi {{name}}, sorry we missed each other just now. No need to call back. Text me when a good moment comes up and I will ring you then.
Hey, I tried you at {{time}} and reached voicemail. Nothing urgent at all. A single word will do: call, text or later.
Hi {{name}}, I am going to stop messaging about this so it does not become a thing between us. The door stays open if you ever want to talk. Take care of yourself.
Hi {{name}}, no product talk today. You mentioned a party coming up, so here is a playlist I love for those: {{link}}. Have fun with it.
Hi {{name}}, you said you would think it over, and that is fair. What is the one thing still unclear? I will answer it straight and then leave the decision with you.
{{name}}, we got cut off in the middle of our chat and I do not want to leave you hanging. I still owe you an answer to your last question. Want it now, or later this week?
Hi {{name}}, it has been a few days since we sat down with the {{product}} samples. Did you get to try them? Honest feedback helps me, even if the answer is meh.
Hi {{name}}, it has been a while. We last talked months ago, and I never followed up properly. No pitch today. How have you been?
Hi {{name}}, I thought of you when {{product}} came back in stock, since you asked about it ages ago. Shall I hold one for you, or has that moment passed?
Hi {{name}}, did your order turn up in one piece? If anything is wrong I would like to fix it before you have to ask me.
Hey {{name}}, forget the business for a second. I have missed hearing from you. Coffee this week? It is on me.
| When | Message | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Day 3 | Left on read, day three | Once. |
| Day 5 to 7 | The second nudge | This is the last nudge about the same thing. |
| Same day | We missed each other | After an unanswered call. |
| After two unanswered follow ups | Closing the loop | Then stop writing. |
| A week or two later | Value, no ask | Only if the close was friendly. |
| 2 months or more | Hello after a long gap | Once, without a pitch. |
"I thought we were friends." Guilt turns a quiet no into a loud one.
Instead: Say you understand and leave the door open.
"I can see you read my message." It feels like being watched.
Instead: Blame the timing: "my message may have landed on a busy day".
Fake urgency to restart the chat ("prices go up tonight", "only a few left") when it is not true.
Instead: Give the real date of a real event or order window, or nothing.
Dangling income to get a reply ("you would be making real money by now"). Earnings claims must be truthful and substantiated.
Instead: Skip it. Ask how they are, or answer the question they asked.
The same copy pasted message sent to everyone on your list.
Instead: Add one real detail from your last conversation.
Carrying on after a clear no. The industry code asks sellers to stop when the person asks.
Instead: Send one closing message and then stop.
Works in WhatsApp, iMessage, Instagram, Messenger and every other app.
Two follow ups, spaced a few days apart, and then one closing message. After that, stop. If you want to keep the friendship warm, send something that asks for nothing, such as the playlist message on this page.
It can feel like surveillance, even when you mean well. Blame the timing instead, as the first message does, and let them answer when they can.
Then do not use these. Thank them and stop. The industry's [code of ethics](http://www.dsa.org/advocacy-policy/code-of-ethics/) asks sellers to end a presentation when the consumer asks. For people who said not now, see replies to no time.
Yes. textcuts is a keyboard, so the messages work in every app where you type. For invitation messages, see product night invites.
Yes. 12 of the 15 use a single blank, which fills in on the free plan. The other 3 use two blanks and need Pro to fill both from the keyboard. Importing the whole page is never blocked.
