Ask after delivery
Hi {{name}}, I hope your order arrived safely. If you have a minute, I'd love to hear what you honestly think of it. Reviews help other shoppers, and any feedback helps me too.
Reviews keep a small shop alive, and most buyers never leave one unless someone asks. The asking is where sellers slip: a discount for five stars, a nudge only to the happy customers, a message that sounds like a plea. Since October 2024 the FTC's rule on consumer reviews has made those habits riskier, and Etsy and Google have their own rules about rewarding reviews. These 15 messages ask for honest feedback from everyone, attach nothing to it, and handle the awkward cases too: the unhappy buyer, the person who says later, the one who asks what they get. Copy any message, or add all 15 to your keyboard and send them from Etsy, Instagram, WhatsApp or any other app in one tap.
Works in WhatsApp, iMessage, Instagram, Messenger and every other app.
Words in {{double braces}} are blanks. In the textcuts keyboard you fill them with one tap, and the names you used recently come back.
Hi {{name}}, I hope your order arrived safely. If you have a minute, I'd love to hear what you honestly think of it. Reviews help other shoppers, and any feedback helps me too.
{{name}}, quick one: would you be willing to leave an honest review of your order? Good or bad, I'd like to read it. Thank you either way.
{{name}}, if you'd like to share your experience, you can do it here: {{link}}. There is no right answer, only your honest one. Thanks for shopping with me.
Hi {{name}}, how is the {{product}} holding up after a few weeks? If you have a moment, an honest review of how it's going helps other shoppers decide.
Hey {{name}}, it was good chatting about your order. If you get a moment, a short honest review would be a big help to a small shop like mine.
Thanks again, {{name}}. If you take a photo of it in use, I'd love to see it, and you're welcome to add it to an honest review. Totally up to you.
Hi {{name}}, if you'd like to review my shop on Google, here is where: {{link}}. Whatever you thought, a few honest words are welcome.
Hi {{name}}, your order should be with you by now. Is everything as you expected? If anything is off, tell me and I'll help.
{{name}}, I saw your note and I'm sorry. Let me try to fix this first: what went wrong? This is separate from any review, and that stays your call.
Hi {{name}}, thank you for telling me. I'm sorry it fell short. I'd like to make it right, so please message me your order details.
Good question, {{name}}. I can't offer anything in return for a review, since the platforms don't allow it, but I'd still love your honest opinion if you have the time.
Thanks for letting me know, {{name}}. Whenever you're ready is fine, and I won't message you about it again.
Hi {{name}}, it's the shop. You said texts from us were okay, so one quick ask: would you leave an honest review of your order? Reply STOP and I won't text again.
Welcome back, {{name}}. You've ordered more than once now, so your view means a lot. If you ever want to share an honest review of any of them, I'd read it with interest.
Thank you for the review, {{name}}. I read every one, and yours showed me what shoppers notice. I appreciate you taking the time.

"Leave me a 5 star review and get 10% off." The FTC's reviews rule bans compensation or incentives that depend on what a review says.
Instead: Ask for an honest review and attach nothing to it.
"Leave a review and you'll get a free gift." Google does not allow free items or payment for a review, and Etsy does not allow rewards for reviews either.
Instead: Say thanks, and keep any thank you gifts separate and unconditional.
Asking for "a five star review" or "a positive review".
Instead: Ask for an honest review, good or bad.
Sending the ask only to buyers you think are happy.
Instead: Send the same ask to every buyer, and handle unhappy ones in a separate message.
Asking a buyer who complained to remove or change their review, or hinting at a refund if they do.
Instead: Solve the problem, then let it go.
Putting a promo code in an Etsy message that asks for a review.
Instead: Keep Etsy messages about the order and the ask.
Messaging again and again after someone said no or ignored you.
Instead: Ask once, and stop after a no.
Threatening a buyer over a review.
Instead: Reply politely in public and offer to fix it in private.

Yes. Asking is fine on the platforms that matter here. What you cannot do is pay for a review, tie a reward to it, or steer what it says. Keep the ask neutral and the same for everyone.
The FTC's consumer reviews rule took effect on 21 October 2024 and covers businesses of any size. These are common rules, not legal advice, so check what applies where you sell.
A few days after the tracking shows delivered, once. If the buyer does not review, leave it. A second or third ask is where people feel nagged.
No. Google and Etsy don't allow rewards for reviews, and the FTC rule bans any reward tied to what a review says. A plain thank you with nothing attached is the safe version.
Yes. textcuts is a keyboard, so you can use the same messages in Instagram, WhatsApp, SMS or email. Check that the person agreed to be messaged there.
Yes. 12 of the 15 use a single blank, which fills in on the free plan. The 3 with two blanks ("Ask with a link", "Ask about the product" and "Google review ask") need Pro to fill both from the keyboard. The free plan holds 8 textcuts and 1 folder, and importing is never blocked, so you can add the whole pack and keep the ones you use most.
