Creator rates and media kit messages: 14 templates

A brand asks what you charge, and suddenly you are typing and deleting the same sentence for ten minutes. Talking about money is easier when you have the words ready. These messages cover sending your media kit, quoting a fee for a set scope, charging for usage and exclusivity, stating your payment terms and answering a budget that is too low. Each one keeps the tone friendly and the scope clear, so nothing extra slips in for free. Copy any of them, or add all 14 to your keyboard and send them from Instagram, WhatsApp, LinkedIn or any other app in one tap.

Works in WhatsApp, iMessage, Instagram, Messenger and every other app.

Words in {{double braces}} are blanks. In the textcuts keyboard you fill them with one tap, and the names you used recently come back.

Sharing your kit

Sending the media kit

Essential
Thanks for asking. My media kit is here: {{link}}. It covers my audience, past work and what I offer. Tell me what you have in mind and I will send a quote.

When to send: When a brand asks about your audience or rates.

Why it works: It answers fast and moves the talk toward a real scope.

What is the budget

Before I quote, could you tell me the budget you have set aside, {{name}}? It helps me suggest the right package instead of guessing.

When to send: When the brand has not mentioned money.

Why it works: The first number in the room should come from them when possible.

Package options

I can offer a few options, {{name}}: one post, a post with Stories, or a bundle across the month. Which sounds closest to what you need?

When to send: When the brief is open.

Why it works: Choices give the brand a way to say yes without haggling over one number.

Refreshed kit

A quick heads up: my rates changed this year. The new media kit is here: {{link}}. Anything we agreed on earlier stays as agreed.

When to send: When you update prices with past clients.

Why it works: It is honest about the change and protects the old deal.

Quoting the fee

Fee for one Reel

Essential
For the Reel you described, my fee is {{price}}. That covers concept, filming, editing and one round of changes. Happy to walk through what is included.

When to send: After the brief is clear.

Why it works: Listing what the fee covers makes it easier to defend.

What the fee includes

Here is what the fee covers, {{name}}: a short concept call, the filmed video, editing, captions and one round of edits. Extra rounds are quoted separately.

When to send: When the brand asks why it costs that much.

Why it works: It shows the work behind the number without arguing.

Usage rights

Essential
My fee covers posting on my own channels. If you want to run the content as an ad or put it on your site, that is a separate usage fee. Tell me where and for how long, {{name}}.

When to send: As soon as the brand mentions ads or reposting.

Why it works: Usage and posting are two different jobs with two different prices.

Exclusivity fee

If you would like me to stay away from similar products for a while, {{name}}, that can be added as an exclusivity fee. How long are you thinking?

When to send: When exclusivity shows up in the brief.

Why it works: It frames the restriction as work with a price.

Payment terms

Essential
My usual terms: half before I start and half on delivery. The invoice is due within {{count}} days. Does that work on your side?

When to send: Right after the fee is agreed.

Why it works: Terms stated early do not feel like a fight later.

Rush slot

Pro
I can make {{date}} work, {{name}}, but that is a rush slot and it carries an extra fee. A deadline a week later keeps the standard price.

When to send: When the brand wants it very fast.

Why it works: It gives them a clear choice between speed and price.

Negotiating

Offer is below my rate

Essential
I appreciate the offer, {{name}}, but it is below my rate for this scope. I could reduce what I deliver to fit your budget, or keep the scope and adjust the price. Which do you prefer?

When to send: When the budget is low.

Why it works: You change the scope, not the value of your time.

Product only for a video

Pro
Thanks, {{name}}. I am glad to try {{product}}, but I cannot make a full video for product alone. Product only works for a mention in Stories. For a Reel I would need a fee.

When to send: When a gifted offer asks for a lot of work.

Why it works: It keeps the relationship and draws a line.

Repeat client package

Since we have worked together before, {{name}}, I am happy to look at a package rate for a few posts. Tell me how many you have planned and I will put it together.

When to send: With a brand that wants more than one post.

Why it works: Repeat work is a fair place to offer a better rate, on your terms.

That works for me

Essential
That works for me, {{name}}. Please put the fee and the deliverables in the agreement and I will sign this week.

When to send: When you reach a number you accept.

Why it works: It closes the talk and moves it to paper.

Do not say

  • A very low first number so they will say yes.

Instead: Quote the scope you really want to deliver.

  • Free usage rights for ads, whitelisting or other channels without discussing it.

Instead: Charge separately and set a time period.

  • "My rate is whatever you can pay."

Instead: Ask for the budget, then show what that budget buys.

  • Sending a kit with old numbers.

Instead: Update your audience and prices before every pitch.

  • Promising results or sales ("this video will boost your sales").

Instead: Describe what you will make, not what it will do for them.

  • Skipping the disclosure label to look more natural. The FTC says paid or gifted content needs a clear, easy to see label.

Instead: Say "ad" near the start of the post.

    Source

  • Starting work before the agreement is signed.

Instead: Wait for the agreement and the first payment.

Works in WhatsApp, iMessage, Instagram, Messenger and every other app.

Frequently asked questions

Should I put my rates in my media kit?

Many creators put package prices in the kit and send a custom quote for bigger projects. If your prices change often, send the kit without numbers and quote after you hear the brief.

How do I ask for payment upfront?

State your terms before work begins, for example half before and half on delivery, as the Payment terms message does.

What if the brand says they have no budget?

Offer a smaller scope, a product only mention in Stories, or a later date. Do not make a full video for product alone unless you want to.

Do these templates work on the free plan?

Yes. 12 of the 14 use a single blank, which fills in on the free plan. "Rush slot" and "Product only for a video" use two blanks, so filling both from the keyboard needs Pro. Free holds 8 textcuts and 1 folder, so the six essentials fit comfortably, and importing all 14 is never blocked.

Can I use these on WhatsApp, Instagram and email?

Yes. textcuts is a keyboard, so the templates work in every app where you type.
